This Windmills & Cheese Tour takes you north of Amsterdam, to the edge of the river Zaan, where you'll visit the windmill village "de Zaanse Schans" with its characteristic green wooden houses.

At the turn of the 18th century, this district was an industrial area with approximately 700 windmills in use. Today there are only five left.

You will pay a visit to a windmill and a wooden shoe manufactor. Entrances to the windmill and the clogmaker are included in your ticket price.

Before returning to Amsterdam, the bus stops so you can take a stroll through the medieval town of Edam.

Summary: 24 HOURS MINIMUM ADVANCE BOOKING REQUIRED. Rates include pick-up from selected Amsterdam hotels. Rates are in US dollars. Child rate applies to ages 4 to 12. Children under 4 are free and must sit on adult's lap. Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 800-208-4421. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

PLEASE NOTE: On Fridays from early April to early September, Edam is replaced by a visit to Alkmaar, a 750 year old city which is famous for its weekly cheese market. You will learn about a long-established Dutch tradition of the weighing of cheese and taste testing. This is a unique experience while the four teams from the Cheese Carriers Guild compete for the fastest and most impeccable timing while handling tons of produce.
